Types

1. Factual Reading Comprehension

This type focuses on facts, information, and real events. It is usually found in textbooks, news articles, and reports. The goal is to understand and remember important details.

2. Narrative Reading Comprehension

This type tells a story with characters, events, and a plot. It can be fiction or nonfiction, such as biographies, personal stories, or historical accounts. The goal is to follow the sequence of events and understand the message.

3. Literary Reading Comprehension

This type includes poetry, novels, and plays that use creative language, emotions, and deeper meanings. The goal is to interpret symbols, themes, and literary techniques.

Plot

Definition of Plot

Plot is the sequence of events that make up a story. It shows how the story begins, develops, and ends, usually following a structure like:

1. Exposition (परिचय/भूमिका) – Introduction of characters and setting (कहानी की शुरुआत, जिसमें पात्रों (characters) और स्थान (setting) का परिचय दिया जाता है) 
2. Rising Action (बढ़ता हुआ संघर्ष) – Events that build tension or conflict (जब कहानी में समस्या या संघर्ष (conflict) बढ़ने लगता है और रोचकता आती है)
3. Climax (चरमोत्कर्ष/सर्वोच्च बिंदु) – The most exciting or important moment (कहानी का सबसे रोमांचक और महत्वपूर्ण मोड़, जब समस्या अपने उच्चतम स्तर पर पहुंचती है)
4. Falling Action (संघर्ष का समाधान) – Events leading to the resolution (जब समस्या सुलझने लगती है और कहानी का अंत नजदीक आता है)
5. Resolution (परिणाम/निष्कर्ष) – The story’s ending or conclusion (कहानी का अंत, जिसमें सब कुछ स्पष्ट हो जाता है और समस्या हल हो जाती है)

Example of Plot

📖 Story: "The Brave Little Girl"

• Exposition: Lily, a shy girl, moves to a new school and feels lonely.
• Rising Action: She wants to join a dance competition but is too nervous.
• Climax: On the day of the competition, she hesitates but then gathers courage and dances beautifully.
• Falling Action: The audience cheers, and Lily feels proud.
• Resolution: She gains confidence and makes new friends.

1. Factual Reading Comprehension

Example Text:
The Amazon rainforest, often called the "lungs of the Earth," produces about 20% of the world's oxygen. It is home to millions of species of plants, animals, and insects. However, deforestation due to logging and agriculture is threatening this vital ecosystem.

Example Questions:

2. Narrative Reading Comprehension

Example Text:

3. Literary Reading Comprehension

Verbal Ability

Verbal Ability Questions test your understanding of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, and logical arrangement of words.

1. Rearranging the Parts

In these questions, a sentence is divided into parts, and you need to arrange them in the correct order.
