Ans: When Porus fell during the fight, the elephant stood over him like a shield (ढाल) to protect him from weapons. Then it picked up Porus with its strong trunk and took him to a safe place.

Ans: King Porus went to fight with Alexander near river Jhelum. He had his loyal (वफादार) elephant with him. A big fight started. Both sides were brave. Suddenly Porus fell down and got badly hurt. He couldn’t get up. His elephant came to protect him. It scared the enemies by trumpeting and took Porus to safety. The elephant died but saved his master’s life.

Ans: The poem shows that the elephant was loyal to his master. When Porus got badly hurt in battle, the elephant saved him by covering him from attacks, scaring enemies, and taking him to safety. He didn’t care about his own life. He died but saved his master. This shows true loyalty.
